During my business trip in Tasmania I went to the hotel bar with some colleagues after the meeting. I looked through the cocktail menu and I thought that a Caipiroska fits best to my taste and budget. What I expected was just a mixture of sugar, limes and vodka. So I was a little bit wondering when the bar tender started squeezing strawberries. I double-checked with the man if the thing he was preparing is thought to meet my order, but he confirmed that he is working on the “Caipiroska”. I thought “OK” and let him proceed. When the cocktail was served, I saw that the whole drink has transformed into the red color from the strawberries and I asked again, if there was no misunderstanding concerning the ingredients. Anyway, after some lengthy discussion, I gave up and took the drink, which surely does not fall into the category of “Caipir***”. It was not that bad at all, but not that what I intended to order. In the meantime I have checked the web and found what I got served. It seems that there exists a Strawberry Caipiroska. OK, if it would be written explicitly on the menu, one could understand, but for me “Caipiroska” comes without fancy options like strawberries. Maybe someone else has other experiences… ?
