This summer in Japan is not only hotter than last year, the electricity saving efforts make it also feel much hotter inside the buildings which have usually air conditioning running at 100%. Thus, ice cream can be a refreshing thing after a long day in the office or on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Last week I have discovered “Ice Guy”, i.e. 80% pure POM orange juice frozen in a kind of plastic tube than can be squeezed out conveniently. It seems to be sold exclusively in 7-eleven convenience stores and, compared to normal ice cream, is stuffed with less sugar. Thus, this is one of my recommendations to “survive” the heat of this summer in Tokyo.
