Spicy recommendation XVI

Today (Jan. 22nd) is Curry-day in Japan so it was obvious that I check another Indian curry restaurant for spicy food. This time my choice fell on a nearby restaurant named インド料理 ピアーズ (Indian Restaurant Piers). The restaurant does not have its own homepage and is only referred in online food guides (see link in the prior sentence). However, since the small restaurant is quite difficult to find from the closest station, i.e. Higashi-Murayama, its highly recommended that you check some (Google) map before you hit the road. For those who come from the station its a 10 minutes walk, for those who want to come by car it should be noticed that the restaurant has even three parking slots which are behind the restaurant. The restaurant itself is located in the ground floor of an apartment building and consists basically of one large room with several tables. The staff is very friendly and the lunch menu offers a variety of curries which can be ordered either as single dishes or in a set which comes with Naan/rice, Salad, Soup and a drink. All selections are sold for a very reasonable price, and curry is available in a choice of 5 spice levels. I ordered a 3-curry set at spicy level 5, although the menu explicitly states that level 5 is not recommended. Salad and soup as starter were really nice, the Naan is huge and the curries are really tasty. The spice level was just right and a short chat with the waiter gave me the information that one can order even more spicy varieties (level 6, 7 or even above) although not printed explicitly on the menu. Other than in similar restaurants, the three curry dishes are really large and the Naan is not only huge, but also quite thick. The drink, in my case Lassi, was really fresh and concluded a nice lunch on the “official” day of curry. Thus, overall I highly recommend to pay a visit to this place, although it needs some preparation to find the way to this restaurant.
