Spicy recommendation XXVI

Motivated by the good rating on Tabelog I went to a curry restaurant named “PUU-san”. The shop is located within walking distance from Musashi-Koganei station and should not be difficult to find (just follow the main street leading South from the station). The restaurant is operated by Japanese staff although they are claiming that their curry is “Indian-style”. Well, that allows for a wide range of interpretation. Thus, it happens that their curry is pretty much Japanese style curry rice which is a little bit more spicy ingredients than what you get in an ordinary shop. As the restaurant is also famous for its spice level, I ordered an extra spicy pork curry. Here’s how the plate looked like:

A lot of food, but it also has its price (1400 Yen), including a desert. The taste was not really something new or even great and the spice level was well below anything that can be called a challenge. I had several curries that were just called “hot” and had really a lot of spice in them, but the PUU-san version is not something that lets you sweat. The restaurant was really crowded when we left and many people were waiting in line to be seated. Thus it seems to be popular, especially among people in their 30ies. However, I can’t really recommend that place concerning its price and spice.
My rating: ★★★☆☆☆☆☆
